The under-representation of working-class people in the screen industries raises important questions. Are careers in the arts perceived as unattainable? Are the working environments hostile and unwelcoming? Is it a result of the deep-rooted inequality that pervades the UK? These questions prompted BAFTA to conduct a study, gathering the unfiltered experiences of BAFTA members from low socioeconomic backgrounds who have successfully established themselves in the industry.
