"Work culture" gets tossed around a lot — but what does it really mean? Vikkie Taggart, Head of Operations at Stellify Media delves into this very topic and unpacks what makes Stellify one of Broadcast's Best Places to Work in TV 2025.

At its heart, it’s the feel of the place: how people interact, what’s valued, and how things actually get done day-to-day. Think of it as the personality of a workplace — shaped by attitudes, values, flexibility, and how people are treated. When Stellify was founded in 2014, we collectively agreed that we wanted to create a working environment that people felt comfortable and valued, 11 years later we have not lost that ethos.
At Stellify Media, work culture isn’t just a buzzword — it’s something we have worked hard to build and live every day. The leadership team genuinely cares about creating an environment where people want to come to work (or log in from home!). Their focus? Collaboration, respect, and inclusion. Our culture speaks for itself, since Covid and the introduction of working from home, our office continues to have a minimum of 90% capacity as our employees genuinely love being in the office.
And here’s the key: these values aren’t just plastered on the walls. They show up in how Stellify treats its people. Whether you're a full-time employee or a freelancer, you’re onboarded the same way — with training, support, and a proper welcome. We provide a comprehensive Induction process and we walk everyone through the additional support systems we have in place for what can be a challenging industry.
Our policies are people-first, practical, and regularly updated to keep things relevant. Our main focus on flexible working - Clear and supported, communicated expectations, transparent and wellbeing prioritised.
It’s not just us saying Stellify is a great place to work — the company has been continuously recognised by Broadcast as one of TV’s Best Places to Work since 2019. That doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of deliberate, thoughtful choices to make the workplace better for everyone and most importantly it doesn’t have to be expensive, it’s small things like inhouse training, mentoring, office snacks/ breakfast materials, monthly team lunches, allowing autonomy and including everyone in Company plans.
It’s not about policing behaviour or ticking boxes. It’s about leadership, showing up, listening, and making space for real conversations. Feedback is welcomed, not feared. We believe in bi-annual chats with everyone to hear the positive and negatives, we regularly check in with all our staff to make sure they are fully supported, and we approach our management system with a linear view. Everyone in Senior management is accessible and available, offering bespoke training and mentoring. We also ensure managers are Mental Health First Aiders too so they are equipped to deal with the difficult conversations and situations should they ever arise.
Great culture isn’t just good craic — it’s good business. Fundamentally, people who feel supported work better. They collaborate more, stay invested, and help attract others who want to be part of something positive.
If you’re a production company wanting to build something similar, our advice at Stellify…. The best place to start is by asking your team what they need — and then acting on it.
At Stellify, building a brilliant work culture isn’t a side project. It’s just how we do things.
